Taylor Plumbing Whangarei, trading as Taylor Contractors, respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect it, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it. It covers information you give us through our website, our quote forms, our phone lines, and lead forms we run on advertising platforms such as Meta, Snapchat and TikTok.

Personal information we collect

Depending on how you contact us, we may collect:

  • Your name, and the name of your business if you contact us commercially.
  • Your phone number(s) and email address.
  • Your service address, including any address details you select or type into our quote form.
  • Details of the plumbing, drainage or gas work you need, including photos or notes you choose to send us.
  • Preferred times, urgency, and any other details you include in your enquiry.
  • Records of calls, emails and messages between you and our team.
  • Technical information such as your IP address, device type, browser, and the pages you visit on our website.
  • Marketing details such as which advertisement, search engine or website you arrived from, captured through tracking parameters like UTM tags and click identifiers.

How information is collected

We collect personal information when you:

  • Fill in a quote or contact form on this website.
  • Call, text or email us. Calls may be routed and recorded for quality and training purposes by our call tracking provider.
  • Fill in a lead form on an advertising platform, such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Snapchat or TikTok, which is then passed to us.
  • Interact with our website, where cookies and analytics tools record page views and campaign performance.
  • Engage us for work, where job details, site access information and records of completed work are kept.

Why we collect it

We collect personal information so we can respond to your enquiry, quote the work, book and complete the job, keep accurate records of the work we have done, and maintain safe and accurate customer records. We also collect limited technical and marketing information so we can understand how people find us and improve our advertising and website.

How we use it

We use your personal information to:

  • Contact you about your enquiry, usually by phone, text or email.
  • Prepare quotes, schedule visits, and carry out plumbing, drainage and gas work.
  • Send job-related updates, reminders and follow-ups about the work you asked about.
  • Send quotes and offers you have asked for, including our current promotions.
  • Keep records for warranty, insurance, invoicing, health and safety, and legal purposes.
  • Measure how our website and advertising perform so we can improve them.

Marketing and customer communications

If you enquire with us or accept a quote or offer, we may send you follow-up communications about your enquiry or job. We may also send occasional marketing messages, such as seasonal offers, maintenance reminders or promotions like our approved work discount. You can ask us to stop marketing messages at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling the person who contacts you, or emailing info@taylorplumbingwhangarei.co.nz. We will action opt-out requests promptly. Job-related messages, such as appointment confirmations, may still be sent where they relate to work you have asked us to do.

Lead information received from advertising platforms

When you fill in a lead form on a platform such as Meta (Facebook or Instagram), Snapchat or TikTok, that platform collects the information you enter and passes it to us as a lead. That information typically includes your name, phone number, email address, and the details you choose to provide about the job. These platforms have their own privacy policies that explain how they handle your information, and we recommend reading them. Once we receive your lead, we treat it under this policy: we use it to contact you about your enquiry and for the purposes set out in this policy. We may also match the lead against campaign data so we can measure which advertisements are working, and we may use the platforms' advertising tools to build audiences of people likely to be interested in our services.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, to measure performance, and to support our advertising. These may include:

  • Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads. These help us understand how visitors use the site and measure which advertising brings enquiries.
  • Microsoft Bing Ads (UET). Used to measure Bing advertising performance.
  • CallTrackingMetrics. Used to route and track phone calls from our marketing, including swapping the displayed phone number for tracking purposes.
  • Advertising platform pixels and identifiers. Including Meta Pixel and click identifiers such as gclid and fbclid, which help measure ad performance and support remarketing.
  • Our CRM and messaging tools. When you submit a form, your enquiry goes into our customer relationship system so our team can follow up.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work, but you can still call or email us.

Service providers we may share data with

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed. These may include:

  • Our customer relationship and automation platform (LeadConnector / GoHighLevel), which stores leads, enquiries and communication history.
  • CallTrackingMetrics, which handles call routing, call tracking and call recording.
  • Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager) and Microsoft (Bing Ads) for website and advertising measurement.
  • Meta, Snapchat and TikTok in connection with lead forms and advertising on those platforms.
  • AddressFinder, which powers the address autocomplete field in our quote form.
  • Our website hosting and email providers.
  • Accountants, bookkeepers and other professional advisers where needed for invoicing, compliance or legal purposes.

We do not sell your personal information. We will only disclose it further where the law requires or permits it, or where you ask us to.

Data storage and security

Your information is stored in systems operated by the providers listed above, which use industry-standard security measures such as encryption in transit and access controls. Access to your personal information is limited to team members who need it to do their job. We keep customer and job records only as long as we need them for the purposes in this policy, including warranty, insurance, tax and legal retention requirements, after which they are securely deleted or anonymised.

Access, correction and deletion requests

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you can ask us for the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, and ask us to delete information where we are not legally required to keep it. To make a request, email info@taylorplumbingwhangarei.co.nz or call 021 195 9943. We will respond as soon as reasonably practicable and no later than 20 working days as required by the Privacy Act.
